goo-gone goddess.
2004-07-18, 2:23 p.m.

hands flecked with centuries-old paint... first the too-bright, brand-new white... underneath, an eggshell, then a buttercream... robins-egg blue. flash of pink, primer gray... underneath, cast iron... nose and fingernails filled to maximum capacity with paint thinner and leaded paint...

the toulouse-latrecs... the kandinskys... matisses and the whistlers... how many... endured death by lead-poisoning by twisting minute beaver-hair brushes into tight points in the curve of their tongues...?

i've locked myself into the bathroom with a tub full of 120-year old doorknobs, gallons of paint-thinner, two packs of cigarettes, and a book of matches oddly inscribed with the name "Lydz" followed by indecipherable digits. window painted shut. otis redding sliding in with the slice of light beneath the now doorknobless door.

sitting cross-legged on the floor, thumbing a cigarette... wondering if i should turn this passive suicide attempt agressive... simply by striking a match.
